Beloved Mother Mary, Could you share a little humor to help us rise up above all the seriousness and remember to laugh?
Seeing the humor in life is no joke. The value of laughter is not a laughing matter. It is a matter of perspective; a choice on how you look at situations; a serious drama or a situation comedy? Life is like a reality tv show that you are both acting in and observing. When you get caught up in your role, it’s easy to take things too seriously. Yet, when you remember to identify with the observer, you can more easily see the humor.
With a good sense of humor, one does not make jokes out of life, but simply recognize the ones that are already there. It is a fun way of making sense out of nonsense and using good common sense instead of being insensible. Sometimes it seems that what is happening just isn’t funny, yet if you choose, you may suspect that there is definitely something funny going on!
What makes you laugh? It can happen at any moment, when you least expect it. The Muse will amuse you with an impish irony, a silly pun, a spontaneous smile, a light-hearted laugh, a wise crack-me-up, a hilarious hyperventilation, or a gut-busting guffaw. When we enjoy the little things, we find so many more of them. We can laugh at nothing or when we make something out of nothing. When we learn to laugh at ourselves, we will never cease to be amused.
It has been said that laughter is the best medicine. Although there is not much joy in medicine, there is much medicine in joy. Joy is good vibrational medicine that heals through wholeheartedness. The best way to overcome heaviness is with lightheartedness. Silly means blessed and it is a blessing to laugh at our silliness.
Laughter is a celebration of the human spirit. Shared laughter creates a bond of friendship and unity. When people are laughing and having fun together, it creates an uplifting wave of unity consciousness. Humor and human both begin with “hum”; like the humming sound of bees, this is the specific sound vibration within the human heart. Laughter is like a natural buzz so that you can “be” happy and enjoy the natural sweetness of life, honey!
What a gift it is to make someone laugh, yet one must be willing to laugh, because it is our choice to see the humor. Will you laugh at my jokes? Here is a classic one-liner; Question: Why did the dog cross the rainbow bridge? Answer: To get to the other side. Here is a classic bar room joke; An angel walked into a bar. The bartender said, “What are you doing here?” And the angel began to sing, “In Heaven There Is No Beer…”
Finally, here is the cosmic joke. It has been said that a good laugh and a long sleep are the two best cures. The Bible says that “a deep sleep fell upon Adam” and it seems that all of humanity has been asleep for a long time. The funny thing is, you don’t need to die to go to Heaven, you just need to awaken from the dream! Now is the time of our Great Awakening as we smile at our silly dream. Then the Heavenly Choir of angels sing, “Take another toke of this cosmic joke. Laughter is the music of the soul. Transcend the separation and find true liberation, with the freedom to choose to be whole”. So Be It and Remember to Laugh!
